The Red Devils Set to Sign Germany Striker Lea Schüller from the Bavarian Giants
Manchester United are finalising sealing the deal for prolific Germany striker Lea Schüller in a permanent move from Bayern Munich.
A Marquee Signing for the WSL Side
Schüller, who has six months remaining on her contract, has been a consistent goalscorer for both club and country. She has scored more than 100 goals for the German giants and scored 54 times in 82 caps for her country. Her arrival is viewed as a major coup for the WSL team.
Her exit from Bayern was expected since she appeared to be fighting back tears while thanking the club's fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen this month.
Reports in December that the German women's top flight was losing one of its top strikers. Per multiple sources, the formalities for the transfer have now been completed.
Consistent Goalscoring to Strengthen United's Forward Line
The 28-year-old’s signing should represent a major uplift to the team's attacking options. She has been highly reliable in front of goal in the Bundesliga.
- For seven consecutive seasons, including the most recent campaign, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
- She claimed the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with 16 goals.
Building Steam at Old Trafford
Securing the German international comes at a time when United appear to be building momentum.
Recent on-pitch successes feature securing a place in the Champions League knockout phase playoffs as a seeded team and a victory in the League Cup quarter-finals.

- The signing of Sweden right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
- The new deal for Japanese playmaker Hinata Miyazawa, a fan favourite since arriving in 2023.
On Miyazawa’s new deal, a club official commented: “She has become a vital part to the way we play. Her understanding of the game and skill enables her and the team to dominate play from central areas.”
The new defender, having arrived from a club in the American league, said: “You can feel how much the club have grown in the last few years, competing in one of the strongest leagues in the world and now featuring in the Champions League.”
