The former Liverpool manager says a return to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who departed from Anfield in 2024, remarked that returning someday remains a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, has since taken on roles in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and in an advisory capacity with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won England's top flight last season, but many fans holding him in high esteem would welcome the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I declared I won't manage another team on English soil. Therefore should it be the Reds...absolutely. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“I’m 58, so I could make the decision later on, who knows. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch what lies ahead.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about the specific conditions must arise to tempt his return to the touchline, Klopp admitted he isn't eager toward coming back. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “I don't crave being a coach; I avoid standing during downpours through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the players having a nice chat, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often positive atmosphere around the place. I can still hear the captain's chuckle in my ear for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role for the tweaks that took the title last term. They've been defeated a string of losses across various tournaments post heavy investment, yet he dismissed the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward like Florian Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. The French striker, excellent performer. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. You don’t have to worry over the club, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for the Late Forward

The manager expressed deep feeling on the loss of Diogo Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact at the club. Jota lost his life in a vehicle collision alongside his brother recently.

“Can you substitute such an individual? It goes beyond the player himself, his personality mattered. It's hard to picture the dressing room without him in it. I still cannot speak properly regarding this. A profound tragedy for his teammates as well. Nobody at Liverpool might employ it as an excuse though it's a fact. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Coping with it on a personal level is challenging. Overwhelming.”
