Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "break" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Fury in last year.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
